THE PROGRAM
The DecideX Instrument is designed to help people work in groups. It is not a psychological test. It does not claim to measure unchanging personal characteristics. Rather, it centers on estimating the information strategy a person uses to conduct their business.
There is no "right" or "wrong" way to process information. They all work. But they are different. Each uses particular kinds of information, has unique methods of "processing," and produces results with certain characteristics. Every strategy is vital to any complex undertaking. However, they address different aspects of situations, and can conflict.
Teamwork and other cooperative efforts are best approached as a sociological phenomenon. No one has to change to work effectively in a group. People just have to be "plugged in" right so that their unique skills and abilities are better meshed with those of the team or the group. DecideX provides you with the basic information to allow you to begin to go about doing this.

HOW TO USE THE RESULTS
On a personal level, you can use the results of DecideX to help you identify and organize your own preferences in life situations.
You can also use this information to help you in working within groups. Just telling people of your information-processing preferences as outlined in your "script" can help you get what you need in order to be more successful. Similarly, if you can learn the information-processing preferences of those with whom you work, you can contribute more effectively to the success of groups of which you are a part. These contributions, both personal and group based, can be reasonably expected to accrue to your personal benefit - either now or later.
DecideX can be a launch point for both you and the groups to which you belong. The process begins by recognizing your own needs and preferences. It progresses by understanding that the needs and preferences of others may be fundamentally different from yours. It begins to solidify when all members of an interrelated group recognize that these different needs and preferences are complementary, and can be combined for the benefit of all. DecideX can be the first step in improving the outcomes both for yourself and for the groups of which you are a part.
