ASSESSMENT
Description
The Managerial Assessment of Proficiency (MAP) is a video driven, computer scored assessment objectively measuring an individual's (and an organization's) competency level in 12 key managerial areas. In addition, it covers 10 styles/values which influence the effectiveness of the 12 competencies. The outcome is an individual and organizational profile (bar graph) by percentiles measured against a data base of over 50,000 supervisors, managers and professionals. The final result is an Individual Development Plan designed for both personal growth and increased organizational effectiveness.
The Assessment takes about 6 hours (including breaks), the Interpretation 2-3 hours and the Individual Development Plan 2-3 hours.
Learning Outcomes:
Participant's awareness of his/her strengths and development areas in the 12 key managerial competencies, how the individual's styles/values impact on these competencies, and the development of a plan of action for individual growth.
Managerial awareness of subordinate's development plans and how they can help in the process.
Organizational awareness of specific areas for group training, benchmarking for organizational improvement, career development efforts, succession planning, etc.
Delivery Conditions:
Facilitated by an in-house trainer, groups of up to 30 participants observe 10 scenarios (a week in the life of a manager and four supervisors), reply to multiple choice questions from a workbook, and record answers on a response sheet for computer scoring.
Once the individual and composite profiles are generated (including a 3 page narrative for each profile), the facilitator explains a sample profile, interprets the styles/values concepts, and guides the participants through the Individual Development Plan process.
Administration:
One or more in-house facilitators are trained and certified as part of the initial installation. In addition to the Instructor's Manual, there are two videotapes for instructors on how to interpret the styles/values concepts. There is no charge for initial or future certifications. There is a user's manual for the software and a practice session on the disk.
Data Analysis:
Individual, group and organizational profiles can be generated by the MAP software as part of the installation.
Updates:
Periodic updates/upgrades are made available to all MAP users, both for the overall instrument in general and for the facilitator in particular. There is an annual update of the scoring disk to add new scores to the data base.
Support Structure:
Users may call Adelis Development Systems anytime for help in either scoring or facilitating MAP at no charge. New facilitators can attend the two-day program run every other month in Princeton at no cost.
